Zanele Mbeki is a fierce political figure in South Africa, she was the feminist South African social worker through which the Women’s Development Bank was founded. She was also the wife of the former president of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki.
Zanele Dlamini is a South African, born and raised in Alexandra in the year 1938. Her father was then a Methodist priest while her mother was a good dressmaker. She has five siblings, all girls.
Mbeki attended the Catholic Inkamama Academy as a boarder, the school was located in KwaZulu-Natal South Africa. From there she gained admission into the University of the Witwatersrand, before she began to train to be a wonderful social worker.
She worked briefly in Zambia as a case worker, there she worked for Anglo American plc for a period of three years.
In 1068, she moved to London, there she completed her diploma in Social administration and policy, she finished from London School of Economics.
She was later awarded a scholarship to do her PhD program at Brandeis University, located in the United States. She later left the US to get married to Thabo Mbeki, who was the president of South Africa from 1998 to 2008.
